Popular Attractions & Provincial Parks Will Be Offering Free Admissions on May 6th & Here's Why

May 6th is the Coronation Day of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen and "will mark the first coronation of a Canadian Head of State in seven decades." On this historic day, a ceremony will be held at Queens Park, which consists of a "flag-raising ceremony, a 21-gun salute, and a drum circle at 11:15 a.m. on May 6." After the ceremony, ‘Coronation Celebration: A Fun Royal Fair’ will be taking place at Queen's Park (South Lawn) from 12 PM to 6 PM. This event will be filled with free family activities, like carnival rides and live entertainment. Not only that but ‘Taste of Ontario’ will be providing free food and beverages from Ontario farmers and makers. 

And that's not all, on May 6th, 10 major cultural attractions, like the Ontario Science Centre, Royal Botanical Gardens, Art Gallery of Ontario, and many more will be offering free admissions. See below for the full list of attractions offering free admission on May 6th:

On top of these cultural attractions, 39 provincial parks will also be offering free admissions on May 6th. Click here for the full list of provincial parks that will be free to enter on that day. Please note that "visitors will be able to book their day use permit at 26 parks that will be open on May 6 and participating in the advance daily vehicle permit service starting on May 1 at 7 a.m." Get to explore famous attractions and spots for free on May 6th 2023.
