Its been a long 4 months of winter, but Toronto is finally getting ready to bloom into peak spring conditions. For the first time in just over 2 years, access will not be limited to parks known for their cherry blossoms, meaning no more park barricades. To make sure you have the best cherry blossom viewing experience, here's our top 3 places to view cherry blossoms in the GTA this spring.
High Park

High Park is one of the most popular spots for viewing cherry blossoms and for good reason. Out of all the parks in the GTA that have cherry blossoms, High Park has some of the most and some of the biggest cherry blossom trees. That being said, this also means High Park attracts a very large audience of people. If you won't mind the large crowds, we definitely recommend High Park. If a smaller crowd is more your thing, check out the other 2 spots on this list.
Trinity Bellwoods Park

If you're looking for something slightly more intimate, we recommend checking out Trinity Bellwoods Park. This spot is a lot closer to Downtown Toronto so if you're coming from deep in the city, its not a too much of a journey. The trees here are smaller, but just as beautiful as any other cherry blossoms. The park is also not far off many great restaurants in the area so consider grabbing a bite after your walk in the park.
Kariya Park

Kariya Park is one of the most criminally underrated spots for viewing cherry blossoms. Located just off to the side of Square One, Kariya Park provides the most intimate of the cherry blossom viewing experiences mentioned so far. The park houses many cherry blossom trees and gives off super zen vibes with its Japanese-inspired design. Fun fact, this park is actually named after a city in Japan named Kariya and Kariya, Japan also has its very own Mississauga Park! Kariya Park is arguably the most photogenic spot on this list and is my personal favourite.
Overall, none of these top 3 places to view cherry blossoms in the GTA this spring will fail you. The place you pick at the end of the day really just depends on the vibes you're going for. Cherry blossom season in Toronto typically starts around late April and early May. Peak blooms usually only last 4-10 days so keep a lookout for updates on our blog to know the best time to go!
