6. Camping Royale at the Dufferin Groves Farmer's Market
Unfurl your blankets and settle beneath the shade of the trees at Dufferin Grove Farmers’ Market, for a delightfully twisted performance, blending absurdity and enchantment. Free of charge! Camping Royale is a satire on colonialism and the privileged class. It features Queen Sophie-Charlotte and Queen Louise, embarking on an absurd camping trip, far away from court. The baroque queens’ attempt to connect with the ‘common people’ is genuine but out of touch with 21st century reality. With only the help of one faithful servant, they have to use their creativity to survive in the wild.
